Spotlight on Elephant Park, London SE1 & SE17
Elephant Park is an award-winning central London development offering high-quality new homes in a vibrant and fast-changing district. Located south of the river in Elephant and Castle, it occupies a convenient, travel zone 1 & 2 location serviced by the Tube (Northern & Bakerloo), trains, buses, and many city cycling routes passing through.
Elephant Park is one of London’s most sustainable inner city regeneration projects delivering a new neighbourhood with over 3,000 homes. The first phase was completed in 2015, and the last residential project, Park & Sayer, is due to be finalised in 2024. The decade-long transformation of the former Heygate Estate, Elephant Park has built strong links with the wider community and is now an integral part of the new Elephant and Castle Town Centre, targeted to be completed in 2026.
Park & Sayer
Park & Sayer is the fifth and final residential phase of the Elephant Park master plan with over 400 residential properties. The visually striking tower is anchored in the heart of the development and is surrounded by two nine-storey mansion blocks. It occupies a quiet location and benefits from the proximity to the central development’s park. The apartments are extremely well-proportioned, open-plan, and bright. The main living area is flexible and opens onto a private balcony or terrace. The apartments are designed to ‘exceed the guidelines in many different areas, such as the minimum space requirements, bulk storage, dual aspect, natural light, ventilation in kitchens and bathrooms, amenity space standards, Lifetime Homes compliance, and noise insulation.’ Residential amenities range from rooftop gardens and lounges, a landscaped terrace overlooked by the gym on level one, to enhanced cycle storage and a 24-hour concierge with a lobby on the ground floor. Park & Sayer was designed by Arney Fender Katsalidis (AFK) a global architecture firm behind two new landmark skyscraper projects in the City of London: 55 and 100 Bishopsgate. Park & Sayer is expected to be completed later in 2024.
Elephant Park public realm
In the heart of Elephant Park is a large, central park area with a landmark water playscape. The park sits just behind the Elephant and Castle railway station, opposite the new Castle Square Shopping district, and is easily accessible from various buildings. The most informative pedestrian path cutting through the length of the development runs via Sayer Street. This bustling restaurant-dotted artery starts at Walworth Square and runs north to the entrance to the new park. The route gives a great overview of the buildings within Elephant Park, from the terraced family houses on Wansey Street, large homes and duplexes flanking Heygate Street, and the elevated pied-a-terre apartments in the striking high-rise Hurlock Heights. Along the way, one encounters a myriad of great green spaces that define each residential section of Elephant Park. There are open green squares, a children’s playground, a private garden, and a large, landscaped park. The public realm at Elephant Park is a triumph of London's urban and landscape design.
Chase Evans and Elephant Park
Chase Evans has been managing, letting, and selling properties in Elephant Park since 2013, the year the development received planning permission from the borough of Southwark. Chase Evans Head Office, Accounts, and Property Management teams are located a stone’s throw from the development, at the base of the Strata Tower. The Chase Evans Sales & Lettings branch covers South London including Southwark, Lambeth and Nine Elms is based in One the Elephant, a building next door to the London College of Communications and opposite the Elephant and Castle Station Underground Station.
