Residential Sales Market and Recently sold by Chase Evans November 2023
Summary of the most recent Chase Evans autumn sales and the latest (October 2023) house price data.
Chase Evans sales are progressing as expected at this time of the year, as most buyers look to complete their house purchases before the start of the festive season.
Affordability and higher interest rates are still major factors influencing the UK property sales sector which is recording fewer transactions. Also, a slight shift in sellers' attitudes to a ‘more cautious’ approach results in fewer properties for sale entering the autumn market.
According to Halifax, the October UK house prices recorded a 1.1% monthly rise, although on an annual level, the prices have declined 3.2%. The greatest fall was recorded in Southeast England, 6%.
· The average UK house price in October 2023 was £281,974. London has the highest average house price in the UK: £524,057. In the last 12 months, the house price in the capital has fallen 4.6%.
· The UK house prices remain around £40,000 above pre-pandemic levels.
Transaction levels, says Halifax, throughout the country remain subdued and expectations are low across regions for the industry which is not expecting major market trend changes in the next few months.
