Spotlight on Quartet – New Homes in London E5
An impressive collection of stylish, contemporary 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments and 2 & 3 bedroom duplexes is completing soon in London E5. Launched in March 2020 by Countryside Properties (a leading home builders), Quartet is an eagerly sought, contemporary housing addition to this residential area on the edge of Clapton Common, Stamford Hill. Located about 5 miles north from Liverpool Street station, in London travel zone 3, the development is set between two popular North London districts - Hackney and Haringey. Quartet new homes occupy the site of the former 1950’s built Tower Court estate, which is part of a larger regeneration scheme by Hackney Council.
The layout and form of Quartet maximises views over Clapton Common park and open green spaces. The master plan retains the previous estate's mature trees into a new, extensive landscaping of open areas and courtyards set between individual buildings forming the new development. ‘The buildings are set back to make room for existing trees to thrive, they are shaped to maximise views and sunlight both into the site and their interiors.’ Quartet is also linked to a flow of North London parks including Springfield Park, Lee Valley Park and Walthamstow Marshes. To the west, it connects to Woodberry Wetlands and New River path which leads to Finsbury Park.
Quartet comprises four buildings with over 130 energy efficient, generously sized family apartments - most with dual aspect views and plenty of natural light, and access to a balcony or terrace. The contemporary open plan living design incorporates underfloor heating hard-wearing Amtico Spacia flooring in the kitchen, hallway, bathroom, en suite and dining/ living areas. Stylish kitchens have quality fixtures and fittings and high-specification integrated appliances. Quartet apartments are designed with plenty of storage and hanging space in the main bedroom and hallway. Residents will have access to enclosed cycling spaces at ground level.
Half a mile from the development is Stamford Hill with excellent shopping along Amhurst Parade and the rail station with train journeys to Liverpool Street under 16 mins. A short car journey away is Westfield Stratford City, London’s largest shopping and leisure centre.
The area is well served by several bus routes (9-min to Clapton station) and offers access to brilliant cycling paths leading to Lee Valley Park, Hackney Marshes, VeloPark in Stratford, Hackney Wick, Victoria Park and Limehouse Basin close to Canary Wharf.
The redevelopment at Tower Court was recognised with a Project Award at the Housing Design Awards 2017 - one of sixteen winners awarded for high quality housing design.
