South Quay Plaza, Canary Wharf E14
South Quay Plaza or SQP development on the Isle of Dogs, London E14, topped out at 68 storeys earlier this year (September ’19), thus becoming the tallest building built by Berkeley Group.
Designed by architects Foster + Partners and developed by Berkeley Group, this striking new development is anchored in a narrow waterside plot overlooking South Dock and Canary Wharf, a stone’s throw from South Quay DLR station, E14. This residential led scheme provides luxury, high-rise waterside collection of studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses. The centrepiece of SQP is the slender pair of slim glass columns, one reaching 68 storeys and the smaller tower reaching 36 storeys. The glass and steel structure is rotated by forty-five degrees to maximize views in every direction. The development comprises three towers and Valiant is the first to complete in 2020.
South Quay Plaza will deliver 888 residential units, ground floor retail space (cafes and restaurants), 24hr concierge, underground car parking, electric car charging points, cycle storage and 2.6 acres of landscaped gardens. Foster + Partners are responsible for both, the exterior architecture and interior designs for SQP.
With the purchase at SQP comes the membership to the Quay Club which secures access to the screening room, private dining room, 56 floor bar and terrace, and entry into the first and second floor leisure & health club with gym facilities and a 20m swimming pool.
The closest station to SQP is South Quay which runs DLR services into Canary Wharf (2 stops), the City and Greenwich. Canary Wharf Underground which runs Jubilee line is a short walk away from South Quay Plaza. Canary Wharf Crossrail station is a 10-min walk from SQP which is also perfectly located for easy access to London City Airport.
