Hayes Village is the one the most recent large scale, mix-use developments emerging in a quiet canalside location in west London. Developed by Barratt, the scheme will deliver over 1300 new modern homes set among extensive green public space framed on one side by the Grand Union Canal. Hayes Village is located in Travel zone 5 with Hayes & Harlington station a stone’s throw away. Hayes Area:
Hayes is a fast developing London suburban area intersected by the western branch of the Grand Union Canal, north of the large Heathrow industrial district. It forms part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. The area’s industrial development advanced in the 20th century, in the period between the two wars. A considerable investment (approx. 6m) of the Hayes Town Centre by the council and TFL has taken place as part of a wider regeneration driving economic growth to the area. The modern golden disc-shaped canopy in the city centre revealed recently is a nod to towns’ strong links with music history. The former EMI Music factory site nearby is currently redeveloped as The Old Vinyl Factory scheme, a ‘mix of re-imagined Art Deco office buildings, new homes, innovation and educational hubs, restaurants, shops, gym, cinema and plus a live music venue.’ A new boardwalk extension will link the new Crossrail station with the town centre.
